SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 5:14-6:2

Did you know that we have a mission statement as a church family? Fellowship Greenville is a community of grace passionately pursuing life and mission with Jesus.

These aren’t just words on a website or a mission statement for the sake of having a mission statement. This is a statement of intentionality for our local church and it is a statement that captures the big idea that runs throughout Scripture. God is on a mission of redeeming people and His vehicle to accomplish His mission of redemption is us (the Church).

The Church at Corinth was reminded of this when Paul wrote them and reminded them that they are new creations if they are in Christ and given to them was the message and ministry of reconciliation. They were to be ambassadors for Christ because today is the day of salvation for someone.

When we experience the grace of God in redeeming us it changes everything…including our intentionality with the hope of the gospel in our spheres of influence. Paul not only reminds the Church at Corinth of the mission before them but also reminds them of the motivation for living a life on mission. The love of Jesus compels us.

Who is close to you but far from God? Who are you praying for, by name, that they would come to know Jesus? In what practical ways are you linking arms with this local church of Fellowship Greenville to passionately pursue life and mission with Jesus?

In January of 2022 the Upstate Church Collective will be launching because of the missional intentionality of Fellowship Greenville and Summit Church. We desire to equip and disciple leaders in our local churches, plant new churches and revitalize existing churches. It’s not another church program. It’s not because we are bored. It’s not to promote our “name/brand”. It is because God is on a mission of redemption and the Church is His vehicle to accomplish that mission.

If our mission statement is to be more than words, it will be because each of us are passionately pursuing life and mission with Jesus. To those of you who have joined this community of grace…thank you! We love being on mission with you. To those who are considering it…we would love to have you join us. God is redeeming. We are His ambassadors. Today is the day of salvation for someone!
