Summer Intership

FG Students

This document is to help shape how you approach this summer and to give clear expectations of what you will be doing. FG Students can be a unique ministry because we are constantly relearning how to engage students and the ever-changing culture in which they live. 

High School Intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Help plan and execute bi-weekly Summer programming and Senior sessions
• Think through the theme, help with sermon prep, promote, be present and engage with students, plan and execute games
• Help plan and attend HS summer events
• Seek vision and help plan long term events
• Disciple HS students
• Contribute to series development 
• Meet weekly with the Student Pastor and engage in discipleship movements
• Regularly discuss Student Ministry strategies and philosophies with Student Pastor
• Contribute to and help form strategies for reaching parents
• Debrief events
• Be flexible in the area of focus and be willing to contribute to Middle School activities
• Possibly teach Middle School / High School students
• Regularly attend one of the Middle School services on Sunday mornings
• Collaborative meetings with entire student ministry staff
• Aid student pastor in student leadership development
• Assist in planning for student fall retreat (EPIC)
• Participate in FGS Middle and High School short term mission trip 
• Engage in assigned reading or personal leadership development 

Middle School Intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Be present at each service on Sunday mornings - 9 and 11
• Help plan and execute Sunday morning services
• Help plan and execute Middle School summer events.
• Teach 1-2 Sunday morning messages
• Meet weekly with the Student Pastor and engage in discipleship movements
• Regularly talk through Student Ministry strategies and philosophies with Student Pastor
• Contribute to and help form strategies for reaching parents
• Debrief Events
• Be flexible in the area of focus and be willing to contribute to High School activities
• Collaborative meetings with entire student ministry staff
• Contribute to series development
• Participate in FGS Middle and High School short term mission trip
• Assist in planning for student fall retreat (EPIC)
