Sovereign Friend, You are in control! Help us to live in constant acknowledgment of this reality. Thank You that we belong to You and have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Help us to walk by the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh. We rejoice that Your grace has appeared—bringing salvation for all people and training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions so that we can live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age. Make us sober-minded as we set our hope fully on the grace to come. Please place a guard over our mouths; keep watch over the door of our lips! Protect us from drifting toward evil or taking part in acts of wickedness.
