PRAYER REQUESTS
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14
The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service. At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service. If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.
Please pray for these other requests:
- Please pray for the Tallent family. Larry and Ruth Tallent were members of Fellowship Greenville for years along with their daughter Tiffany Hangen and son-in-law Ben Hangen. Larry passed into glory on Friday, Nov. 8th after a long battle with cancer. His celebration of life service will be held at the Church at the Mill Chapel, 4455 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369, Saturday, Nov. 23 at 11:00AM. A reception will follow. Larry was an ardent Clemson fan so wearing orange would be appropriate.
- Steve Methvin asks for prayer for Thanksgiving family plans as his father’s health is declining.
- James Wood requests prayer as he searches for a job, and for an interview on Monday.
- Tracy Koehler would like prayer for guidance and provision from the Lord, as well as strengthening family relationships.
- Emily Gallagher requests prayer for wisdom and guidance for decisions she has coming up in her future.
- Brandi Brogden requests prayer for a family whose daughter has been diagnosed with cancer.
- Mel Furniss asks for prayer for miraculous provision and for comfort in the midst of some grief and anxiety.
- David Abela requests prayer for the Lord to provide work for his family.
- Andy Foth would like prayer for direction in whether to move, and if so, where to move to.
- Lucy Kobliska asks for prayer for healing, direction, and continued spiritual growth.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: KYRGYZSTAN
"Kyrgyzstan is a remote mountainous nation with a nomadic tribal culture. It is also one of the poorest former Soviet states in Central Asia. A significant portion of the population has left to work elsewhere, and life in Kyrgyzstan is hard. After decades of Communist rule, most Kyrgyz have returned to their nation’s pre-Communist Islamic cultural identity.
Some churches worship openly, even in small towns, but being a Christian is difficult because of the Islamic culture. Christian converts are commonly beaten, and the small Christian minority is generally oppressed by society. For example, buses will not stop for those known as Christians in small communities, and believers have difficulty getting jobs and even purchasing goods. In some communities, Muslim leaders have denied the burial of deceased Christians." (via: Voice of the Martyrs)
Way to pray: Pray for believers’ integrity amid widespread corruption. Pray that Christian families in the north will become missionaries in the south.
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: GONZALEZ
A native Colombian, Bernardo Gonzalez pastored a Colombian church and worked with several missionary organizations for over 13 years while working a secular job for 10 of those years to support his family. In 2011, Bernardo stepped into the role of Colombia National Director with e3 Partners. In this role, Bernardo now devotes all of his energy to reaching Colombians for Christ by coordinating the efforts of different Christian associations and churches to accomplish this goal. His vision is to help grow a passion for church planting in the local church. He and his wife, Mildred, have been married almost 15 years and have two daughters, Emily and Mariana.
Way to Pray: Bernardo's team launched online mentor training during the pandemic and has since been utilizing several different online tools. Please pray that this continues to be an encouragement to the pastors in the network. Please pray for Bernardo and Mildred as they have many different things on their plate and deal with stress.
