PRAYER REQUESTS
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble". Psalm 46:1
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land". 2 Chronicles 7:14
The Prayer Team is actively looking for individuals who would like to minister to our congregation by meeting with those who need prayer following the Sunday services. Volunteers are on duty once a month for one service. At this time, we particularly have a need for the following weeks/services: 1st Sunday/2nd Service, and 3rd Sunday/2nd Service. If you are interested in serving with the Prayer Team, please contact Rebecca Cooke at 864-385-3368 or rcooke@fellowshipgreenville.org.
Please pray for these other requests:
- Please pray for the Tallent family. Larry and Ruth Tallent were members of Fellowship Greenville for years along with their daughter Tiffany Hangen and son-in-law Ben Hangen. Larry passed into glory on Friday, Nov. 8th after a long battle with cancer. His celebration of life service will be held at the Church at the Mill Chapel, 4455 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369, Saturday, Nov. 23 at 11:00AM. A reception will follow. Larry was an ardent Clemson fan so wearing orange would be appropriate.
- Issy Carrillo’s father passed away, and she would like prayer for her sadness and anxiety.
- Please pray for Cathy Scott. She has battled Parkinson's for 30 years and now has glaucoma. She recently fell, because her balance is difficult. Please pray for God's comfort and healing touch.
- Diana Penn requests prayer for her sister, Jennifer, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
- Marie Floyd asks for prayer for her family. She is the primary caregiver for her daughter, Chakka. Chakka has an undiagnosed severe illness. Please pray that God will lead them to the right professionals who can properly diagnose her, and that the Lord would heal her of this mysterious illness. Marie also asks for prayer for her two other daughters, Tira and Yorri. She desires God's direction for them both in their professional and personal lives.
- Mark Thomas asks for wisdom for his daughters’ doctors, as they are both seeking treatment for ongoing medical needs.
- Anna Hart requests prayer for a friend’s family whose baby is in the hospital with RSV.
- Steve Methvin asks for prayer for Thanksgiving family plans as his father’s health is declining.
- James Wood requests prayer as he searches for a job, and for an interview on Monday.
- Emily Gallagher requests prayer for wisdom and guidance for decisions she has coming up in her future.
GLOBAL NEWS OPPORTUNITY TO PRAY: PHILIPPINES
"In the Muslim-majority southern island region of Mindanao, Islamist groups and the government have engaged in a longstanding conflict over the Islamists’ desire to form an independent Muslim state. Groups such as Abu Sayyaf and Maute have pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS) to gain financial help and recruit foreign fighters. Islamic extremists routinely threaten Christians and have driven many out of Muslim-majority areas. Many pastors and other believers have been killed. However, a significant number of Christians remain in these areas as a bold witness for Christ.
In the Mindanao region, attacks on Christians are sporadic and unpredictable, creating an environment of constant tension for Christians. Government forces usually respond when conflicts occur, but Christians’ rights are not protected in areas where the government has ceded control to Islamists. Churches are legal, and graduates of Bible schools in the Mindanao region boldly return to share the gospel in their communities." (via: Voice of the Martyrs)
Way to pray: Pray that cross-cultural workers will reach out fearlessly to those in dangerous, unreached areas. Pray that community leaders will welcome front-line workers to their villages. And finally, pray for the continued boldness of Believers in the Philippines.
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT: GONZALEZ

In 2011, Bernardo stepped into the role of Colombia National Director with e3 Partners. In this role, Bernardo now devotes all of his energy to reaching Colombians for Christ by coordinating the efforts of different Christian associations and churches to accomplish this goal. OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: HORIZONS INTERNATIONAL
Horizons founded its first ministry center in Beirut in 2012, as refugees poured over the border due to the Syrian Civil War. Horizons began seeing huge numbers of Muslims coming to faith and began partnering with churches to disciple hundreds of converts from Islam and train believers from all backgrounds to boldly proclaims, disciple, and equip others for the Great Commission in Lebanon, the Middle East, and beyond.
Horizons Lebanon has a two-pronged approach to ministry through our network of ministry centers and partner churches, and the Middle East Center for World Missions. Today, Horizons Lebanon serves as an integral hub of gospel proclamation, discipleship, media production, and training events, serving communities throughout the MENA region.
